When you walk into our events, you’ll leave with new friends and connections. Our team-based learning is tailored to include everyone, make the event less intimidating, encourage the growth and empowerment of every attendee, and to help you have the most fun possible.

Since our Retreats have launched, we have helped over 5,000 leaders unify and unite together to share best practices, build community, and engage in leadership learning.

 
 

What should I expect at an NSLS event?

Located on NSLS host school campuses, we have chosen four cities for our events that offer fun settings, nearby lodging and a host of on-site activities and nearby excursions. Next to babbling streams or the urban bustle, we provide a unique experience that is as uncomplicated as possible! Simply arrive in the city and we take care of the rest.

When you arrive, we’ll greet you with a warm welcome to the gorgeous venue where you will meet your new friends and then head over to the welcome area, where we’ll all get to know each other more and talk about all the fun we’ll have together for the next few days.

The two days will be filled with morning keynotes, breakout & implementation sessions, with a few creative and small group opportunities sprinkled in as well.

Each night, we’ll toast to another day together over an activity or meal before we engage in fun activities. On our last morning, we’ll gather once more after a delicious breakfast before we say our goodbyes. Our schedule is full intentionally, and somehow our attendees still never want to leave! Specialty creative “hands-on” sessions designed to enrich your creative brain, too! It’s like a grownup summer camp! Opportunity for close conversations with speakers and other attendees through planned special topic ‘tribe’ gatherings, ‘fire-side’ chats and panel sessions.

+ How much is the registration fee and what does it include?

Your Leadership Summit registration fee covers meals (two breakfasts, two lunches, two coffee breaks/snacks), workshop materials, and training sessions.

Please note, for each chapter attending, the NSLS provides one registration at no cost for the first Chapter Leader to sign up, and provides a discount code for 50% off registration for the second Chapter Leader. Registration discount codes are included in your event emails and are available for use at one of the four 2019 Leadership Summits. If you have lost your code, please contact your Chapter Support Manager or events@nsls.org.

+ Is lodging included in the registration fee?

Lodging is not included. But here’s the great news—we’ve partnered with local hotels to get you a special discounted rate. Please review the “Details” section for more information on local accommodations.

+ How should I go about making arrangements to get to the event?

We recommend reviewing online travel services for the best options. If you have additional questions, we’re here to help with suggested routes and travel itineraries. We encourage you to carpool or use public transportation wherever possible.

+ When is the last day I can register?

The deadline is two weeks before the Leadership Summit. Seats fill up fast on a first-come, first-serve basis. We encourage you to register as soon as possible. If you wait until the deadline, it is likely you will be waitlisted.

+ When will I receive final event information?

You should expect to receive final event information by email at least one week before your selected Leadership Summit. This email will provide final location information, dress code, travel recommendations, and more. If you have any questions, please contact events@nsls.org.

+ I can no longer attend. Is my registration transferrable? What is the cancellation and refund policy?

We’re sorry you need to miss out on such a life-transformative event. But we know that sometimes, “life happens.” You can transfer your registration to another NSLS Member or Chapter Leader, or you can cancel for a refund as long as you let us know no later than 14 days before the event.

Unfortunately, no refunds can be given less than 14 days before the event. To cancel within the cancellation period, email us at events@nsls.org and include the name of the person(s) cancelling, school name, event date, and phone number.

+ What is the dress code?

Business casual attire is recommended.

+ Is there anything that I need to bring with me to the event?

Your Leadership Summit registration includes meals (two breakfasts, two lunches, two coffee breaks/snacks), workshop materials, and training sessions. You do not need to bring anything additional beyond lots of energy, ideas to share, and a willingness to learn. An optional item to bring is business cards, so you can maximize networking opportunities.
